E stablished in 1951 under the direction of Donald J. and Madeline A. Corridan, the funeral home has had the privilege of serving Chicopee and the surrounding area for more than 60 years. Both were natives and lifelong residents of Chicopee with Donald graduating from Cathedral High School and Madeline from Holy Name High School. Donald received his professional instruction from the New England Institute and attained his embalmer license in 1943. While employed as a full-time Inspector at Moore Drop Forge Co. he was presented with the opportunity to purchase the funeral home. His work also entailed an involvement in Trade Services with other funeral homes in the area as an embalmer and funeral director.
In 1975, their son, D. Barry Corridan received his license after completing the necessary course work at the same institute his father had attended. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School, attended St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH, and also participated in Trade Services upon returning to the area. In 1987, Donald passed away and since that time Barry has aimed to carry on with the traditional values learned from his parents and the funeral home remains a family owned and operated entity.
